Before Al Capone, there was John Looney, (aka, Johnny Loon). Exactly 100 years ago, he had a hold on the Quad Cities with illegal gambling, bootlegging, prostitution, & extortion. Through his tabloid newspaper, Rock Island News, he was able to intimidate and blackmail his opponents. His empire came crashing down when he was indicted for murder after a gang war in 1923. We have teamed up with Daniel Stratman to make a John Looney inspired mead in coordination with Stratman’s latest song “Johnny Loon”. Johnny Loon is a carefully crafted blend of four different barrel aged meads of different ages ranging from 6 months to 5 years and varietals including blueberry, orange blossom and clover. Notes of caramel, leather and tobacco Daniel Stratman will perform from 7-10pm with a premeire of the composititon "Johnny Loon" at 4:30pm
